Quite expensive but great for lunch - try the Chowder. O'Neills, The Point Renard Point, Cahersiveen Tel: 066 947 2165 Fantastic seafood. A great place for lunch en route to Valentia. Quite expensive but worth it. Valentia Island Unfortunately our favourite venue, The Lighthouse Café is closed. In case it reopens: Dohilla, Valentia Island, Tel: 066 947 6304 The Fushsia Restaurant - Knightstown, Valentia. Tel: 066 947 6051 Sea Breeze - Knightstown, Valentia Tel: 087 783 7544 down town Knightstown has the best crab claws ever. Waterville The Smugglers' Inn Waterville, Tel 066 947 4330 www.smugglers-inn.com Our favourite. Brilliant for late lunches. Recommended: everything! Great value, especially for lunch. Dinner is more expensive. The Sea Lodge (new-ish) On the front and serving food all hours, so great for late lunch... Five Spice New-ish Thai restaurant with excellent Thai food. The Villa (pub) Excellent bar food and serving all day. |
Music & Jollification
Waterville Tech Amergin is the local community centre in Waterville. It hosts an amazing array of events and you should certainly check out their schedule:www.techamergin.com. Occasionall there are ‘sessions’ in local pubs. Dungegin The pub in this tiny village near Ballinaskelligs often has music in the evening. Check it out on your way home. Portmagee Check out the Moorings for good sessions and Irish Dancing workshops (set dancing, not Riverdance step dancing) or go and watch the locals dance.
