Ring Forts
Ringforts are undoubtedly the most widespread and numerous field monuments in the Irish countryside, their original number being estimated at between 30 and 40 thousand. They consist of an enclosure, usually roughly circular, defined by banks or stone walls. Usually a caher is used to refer to a ringfort made of stone and rath is one constructed largely or entirely of earth.
It is clear that the builders had extensive knowledge of universal and earth energy and understood that these energies exist to replenish the body, the land, the animals and to improve quality of life.
Ringforts were chosen by diviners for the very high energy coming from the ground. They build the forts and corrected the energy to flow at its maximum frequency, thus turning them into places of great healing. Ringforts have been special places of healing for thousands of years.
